Softening the Hard Edges

Can’t you just relate to a cactus some days?  There you are, colorful, thriving in the harshest of conditions, maybe even blooming – but un-touchable.

Maybe you’re scared, lonely, or just don’t want to be hurt.  In those moments we can sometimes prick the people who try to get close to us.

This isn’t bad at all!  The cactus evolved this to survive attack, and most of us have done very much the same.  The spines served us for a long time and protected us from further harm.

If you still need them, go on with my love and blessings that the day will come when they will no longer serve you.

This image represents the softening of that cactus.  The beauty and strength remain, but the softer edges welcome more love, more joy, and more companionship into our beings.
